What is Supa-Trac?
Supa-Trac is a medium-duty interlocking temporary flooring system manufactured by Rola-Trac. Each panel is made from nucleated polypropylene co-polymer and measures 966mm × 275mm × 34mm, weighing just 2kg. Panels connect without tools and can be laid in straight runs or custom pad shapes, covering up to 70m² per person per hour — making it the fastest-to-deploy ground protection panel in its class.
Unlike standard pedestrian walkway matting, Supa-Trac is rated for moving vehicles with a gross axle weight of up to 3.5 tonnes, including most cars and vans. Its static load capacity is up to 70 tonnes per m², making it suitable for crowd barrier bases, temporary structures, and equipment platforms.
Key Applications
Supa-Trac is used across four primary sectors. Each application takes advantage of its core strengths: fast deployment, vehicle-rated load capacity, non-slip surface, and easy cleaning.
Events & Festivals
Supa-Trac is the ground protection of choice for outdoor events where ground conditions are unpredictable and time-to-build is critical. It is used front-of-stage at rock concerts to protect grass surfaces and provide a stable base for crowd barriers, at outdoor festivals as temporary pathways between stages, and in marquee and tent footprints as a level, drainable sub-floor. The panels’ non-slip surface remains safe in wet conditions, and they can be hosed down and reused across multiple events.
Construction Sites
On active construction sites, Supa-Trac creates safe, defined pedestrian walkways and temporary vehicle access routes without permanent ground disturbance. It is particularly effective in protecting sensitive surfaces near completed areas and in minimising mud migration at site entrances. Quick deployment and extraction mean it can follow project phases rather than becoming a fixture. For construction site access requirements, refer to HSE guidance on site safety.
Military & Defence
Supa-Trac has been operationally tested and used by military forces as a rapidly deployable ground surface in forward operating environments. It has been used as a helicopter landing pad surface, validated with Chinook, Apache, and Blackhawk helicopters. Its inert, non-conductive properties and resistance to corrosion make it suitable for harsh and varied terrain conditions. Its compact pallet format enables efficient transport in military logistics chains.
Stadiums & Sports Venues
Stadium and venue managers use Supa-Trac to protect natural grass pitches and synthetic turf surfaces during concerts, exhibitions, and non-sporting events. The panel system distributes load evenly, preventing point pressure damage to turf roots. It can be configured around curved pitch boundaries and lifts cleanly after use with no adhesives or fixings required.
