What is the AmP Panel?
The AmP Panel is a heavy duty aluminium trackway system engineered to solve the most demanding temporary road and ground protection challenges. From concert load-in and load-out, festival production roads, stadium event access, to construction site access and military logistics. It supports axle loads up to 12.5 tonnes and deploys without a Hiab crane, using a standard all-terrain forklift such as a JCB 926 and a team of two to four people.
Aluminium trackway has long been the specification for the highest load applications. What the AmP Panel adds is portability and speed: traditional heavy duty aluminium mat systems require specialist crane handling. The AmP Panel breaks that dependency, making heavy duty aluminium trackway accessible on sites and in schedules where Hiab logistics were previously prohibitive.
10-Point Connection System
The AmP Panel’s most significant engineering advance is its 10-point connection system. Conventional trackway panels typically use two or four connection points, and it is at those points that panels are most vulnerable to damage under repeated heavy loading. The AmP Panel distributes connection force across ten points per panel, dramatically increasing joint resilience and extending service life under the most demanding conditions.
The 10-point system also enables a brick weave configuration. Instead of running panels in a single direction, the brick weave pattern interlocks adjacent panel rows, creating integrated lateral strength across the width of the trackway — not just along it. The result is a road surface that behaves as a unified structure rather than a series of joined sections.
No Hiab Required – Significant Cost Saving
A standard Hiab truck costs in the region of £180,000 to purchase and requires a specialist operator. For many events and construction projects, that cost and the logistics of arranging Hiab access on site, has historically been a barrier to using heavy duty aluminium trackway where it was actually the right technical solution.
The AmP Panel is deployable using a standard all-terrain forklift – a JCB 926 or equivalent, which is already on most sites or is available to hire at a fraction of the cost. A team of two to four people handles manual placement and connection. The result is heavy duty performance at light-touch deployment cost.
AmP Panel Applications
The AmP Panel is specified wherever axle loads exceed composite trackway capacity or wherever the operational context demands heavy duty aluminium performance without Hiab dependency.
- Stadium concert load-in and load-out – production truck and crane access roads across pitches and venue approaches
- Festival vehicle access roads – main production roads for HGV logistics, generators and production units
- Construction site access – temporary roads across soft ground for plant, deliveries and site traffic
- Military operations – forward operating base access roads and logistics routes in remote or difficult terrain
- Crane pads and heavy plant hardstandings – stable working platforms for cranes, MEWPs and heavy equipment
- Temporary car parks – heavy vehicle and coach parking on grass and unprepared ground
- Emergency access – guaranteed vehicle access routes in waterlogged or soft ground conditions

The AmP Panel is a heavy duty aluminium trackway system supporting axle loads up to 12.5 tonnes. It creates temporary road surfaces for the most demanding vehicle access requirements — production trucks, cranes, HGVs and heavy plant — without requiring a Hiab crane for deployment. It deploys using a standard all-terrain forklift and a team of two to four people.
The AmP Panel supports axle loads up to 12.5 tonnes (25,000kg). This is the highest load rating in The Floor Box range and is suitable for fully loaded HGVs, mobile cranes, tracked plant and the heaviest production equipment used at major stadium and festival events.
No. The AmP Panel is specifically designed to be deployed without a Hiab crane — a key operational advantage over traditional heavy duty aluminium mat systems. Panels are positioned using a standard all-terrain forklift (a JCB 926 or equivalent) and then connected manually by a team of two to four people. This removes the significant hire cost and logistical complexity of Hiab dependency on site.
Each AmP Panel measures 3000mm × 1150mm × 40mm and weighs 104kg. Panels are delivered in stacks of 200 per standard truck, or 180 panels per Hi-Cube container for international shipments.
The AmP Panel uses 10 connection points per panel — compared to the two or four points used on conventional trackway systems. The additional connection points significantly increase joint resilience under repeated heavy loading and enable a brick weave configuration, where adjacent panel rows interlock to create integrated lateral strength across the full trackway width.
Both are heavy duty trackway systems but they serve different load ranges and deployment contexts. The AmP Panel is aluminium and supports up to 12.5 tonne axle loads — the highest capacity in the range, requiring a forklift for deployment. I-Trac is a composite (HDPE/fibreglass) panel system supporting up to 2,000kg axle loads, fully manhandable by a two-person team with no machinery. For most festival and construction applications, I-Trac is sufficient and more cost-effective. For the heaviest plant, cranes and fully loaded HGVs, the AmP Panel is the correct specification.
Yes. AmP Panels are available to hire as well as to purchase at £879.95 per panel excl. VAT. Contact The Floor Box with your project location, dates, required coverage area and vehicle types for a hire quotation. Bulk buy discounts are available for large panel quantities.
Yes. The AmP Panel is designed for use on grass, soil, soft ground, sand and other unprepared surfaces. It distributes vehicle load across the panel area to prevent rutting and compaction of the ground beneath. It is suitable for stadium pitch access roads, festival fields, construction sites on soft ground and any application where a temporary road surface is required over unprepared terrain.
