Stadium & Venue Applications
Stadium and venue temporary flooring is specified for any non-sporting event that requires pedestrian or vehicle access across the playing surface, or stable flooring in areas beyond the pitch. From single-night concerts to multi-week exhibitions, our systems protect venues and enable events of any scale.
Concert & Live Music Events
Protect stadium pitches and arena floors during major concert tours, residencies and one-off shows. Heavy duty systems support stage structures, rigging towers, production trucks and forklift access during load-in and load-out. Lighter systems create safe pedestrian zones, guest areas and accessible routes for audiences of any size. Trusted by UK venues hosting artists from every genre.
Stadium & Arena Exhibition Events
Transform stadium interiors and pitches into exhibition halls and trade show spaces with level, stable flooring suitable for stand construction, heavy equipment positioning and sustained visitor traffic. Temporary flooring distributes load across the pitch to prevent compaction while providing the clean, solid surface exhibitors and visitors expect.
Pitch Protection During Build & Strike
The heaviest pitch damage at stadium events typically occurs during load-in and load-out, when forklifts, production trucks and cranes make repeated crossings. Heavy duty trackway and composite panel systems create permanent vehicle routes across the pitch for the duration of the event, protecting turf from the rutting and compaction that causes the longest recovery times.
Hospitality, VIP & Sponsor Areas
Create stable, aesthetically appropriate flooring for hospitality suites, sponsor activations, VIP zones and premium areas within stadium venues. Lighter duty systems provide a solid walking surface over grass or concourse areas, with options suitable for carpeting or covering to match venue aesthetic requirements.
Sports Venue Non-Pitch Events
Support winter markets, fan zones, award ceremonies, corporate days and charity events at sports venues without restricting access to the pitch or risking turf damage during the sporting season. Temporary flooring systems can be deployed rapidly before and recovered cleanly after events, minimising groundstaff disruption and pitch downtime.
Accessible & Inclusive Event Access
Create clearly defined, anti-slip pedestrian pathways and accessible routes that meet venue safety and accessibility requirements for public events. Temporary flooring systems provide a stable, level surface for wheelchair users, ambulant disabled visitors and guests with mobility needs across grass, soft ground and uneven surfaces.

Stadiums & Venues — Frequently Asked Questions
What temporary flooring does a stadium need for a concert?
The specific systems required depend on the stage layout, production weight, audience capacity and pitch type. Most stadium concerts require a combination of heavy duty systems such as I-Trac composite trackway or the AmP Panel aluminium system for vehicle access routes and stage loading areas, with lighter systems for pedestrian zones and hospitality areas. Contact The Box Group with your event details for a tailored recommendation and quantity calculation.
Will temporary stadium flooring damage the pitch?
When correctly specified and installed, temporary flooring systems protect the pitch rather than damage it. The modular panels distribute load across the surface, preventing the rutting, compaction and oxygen starvation that cause the most serious pitch damage. Full turf recovery is achievable after removal, though recovery time depends on pitch type, the duration of coverage and the time of year. We work with groundskeepers and turf consultants to specify the correct system and minimise impact on pitch health.
How long can temporary flooring remain on a stadium pitch?
Coverage duration depends on pitch type, the time of season and site conditions. As a general guide, natural grass pitches in the growing season tolerate shorter coverage periods than those in dormancy. Hybrid and synthetic pitches typically tolerate longer coverage. Systems with greater ventilation and light transmission extend the safe coverage window. Contact our team with your pitch specification and event dates for project-specific guidance - we do not recommend relying on generic timeframes without a proper pitch assessment.
Is stadium flooring available to hire?
Yes. All stadium flooring systems from The Floor Box are available to hire as well as to purchase outright. Hire is typically the most cost-effective option for venues hosting events on an irregular basis, or where storage space for purchased systems is limited. Contact us with your event dates, coverage area and load requirements for a hire quotation.
How quickly can stadium flooring be installed?
Installation speed depends on the system selected and the size of the area to be covered. I-Trac composite trackway can be laid at 30 to 40m² per operative per hour. For large stadium pitches, professional installation crews can cover significant areas within a single working day. Contact us with your coverage area and available installation window for a project-specific timeline.
Can you supply stadium flooring for both indoor arenas and outdoor stadiums?
Yes. Our systems are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. For indoor arenas, surface compatibility and load-bearing requirements should be confirmed with our technical team, as concrete and wooden arena floors have different specifications to grass pitches. For outdoor stadiums, all our systems are weather-resistant and perform in wet, cold and dry conditions.
Do you work with stadium groundskeepers and turf managers?
Yes. We work directly with grounds staff, turf managers and venue operations teams to specify the correct system for each application and to coordinate installation and recovery in a way that minimises impact on pitch health. Our technical team has experience across natural, hybrid and synthetic turf types at Premier League and international stadium level.
Do you supply stadium flooring internationally?
Yes. The Box Group supplies temporary stadium flooring systems worldwide, including for international stadium events and tours. We have experience supplying major outdoor concert and event productions internationally. Contact us with your event location, dates and coverage area for a freight quotation and lead time.
